About Us

Seeing my patients continue to suffer without effective treatment options and observing their struggles with high blood pressure—despite being on multiple medications—prompted my journey into functional medicine. Many patients express concern about the costs associated with these services, often feeling more comfortable relying on insurance benefits, which unfortunately do not cover functional medicine.

My personal connection to this journey is profound. Many patients experience cardio-metabolic syndrome—a combination of symptoms that impacts cardiac health and leads to a gradual decline in overall wellness. This diagnosis is frequently overlooked in conventional medicine, posing serious health risks like heart disease. I can relate, as I have also faced weight challenges that my doctor failed to address until I began asking questions. Through functional medicine, I not only manage my weight but also discovered that my thyroid and cortisol levels were affecting my health.

When I connected with the Family Medicine First Track team, I realized there was a viable path for both my patients and myself. The detailed clinical question-and-answer sessions illuminated the fact that many health issues stem from gut health, highlighting the need for detoxification and addressing gut problems to help conditions like diabetes, hypertension, and obesity.

My decision to pursue functional medicine stemmed from a genuine desire to improve the lives of my patients and my family. This commitment was further reaffirmed when my daughter shared that she had lost faith in conventional medicine, feeling encouraged by my pursuit of functional medicine.

While I am still mastering the art of functional medicine to ensure I provide the best care, I’m learning alongside a fantastic team and testing these methods on myself and my family. The progress has been remarkable.

I now feel empowered to dig deeper into the root causes of my patients’ health conditions. Functional medicine testing and supplement use have helped me uncover obstacles to my own health and provide targeted support to my patients.

Throughout my 15 years of practice, I’ve built strong connections with my patients by listening and understanding their medical needs. This allows me to educate them on disease prevention and chronic disease management—something that requires quality time with patients, which is often lacking in conventional medicine. I’ve gained insight into the benefits of specific supplements, enabling me to help a 70-year-old female quit tobacco and alcohol and reduce another patient’s hemoglobin A1c from 10 to 5 through healthy lifestyle changes.

Every time I help a patient gain insight into the root cause of their issues, I feel a deep sense of satisfaction. While there are financial benefits to this journey, my true excitement and reward come from the opportunity to support my patients, including myself and my family, in healing from the inside out.
